📚 Historical Context
During the time of King Asa of Judah, there was ongoing conflict with the northern kingdom of Israel under King Baasha, as the two nations were divided and often at war. Asa sought help from Benhadad, the king of Aram, by forming an alliance and bribing him to attack Israel and divert Baasha's forces away from Judah's borders. This led Benhadad to send his armies to strike key cities in the northern territory of Israel, including Ijon, Dan, Abel-beth-maachah, Cinneroth, and the land of Naphtali, as described in the biblical account of these political maneuvers.
